While heading to Karaka is nothing new for Highline Thoroughbreds, the Waikato farm will make their weanling sale debut at New Zealand Zealand Bloodstock’s National Weanling Sale on Friday.
“We are really excited to be here with the weanlings, we have got a beautiful draft that we have put together for some good clients,” Farm principal Eva Heron said.
“We have got a couple of standouts, including a Tarzino filly (lot 72) who has been extremely popular, and lot 53, the Ardrossan colt, has also been popular.
“We are really happy with the way things have been going for us.”
While initially the farm didn’t have any intentions of heading to weanling sales, Heron said they answered the call of their owners and have elected to offer a draft this year.
“Our clients are racing people and breed specifically for what they want, be that a colt or a filly,” she said.
“They really wanted us to do a weanling draft and we agreed, and we have put in two of our own as well to support our clients.
“We are excited with the way the draft has been received.”
