Yearlings by Rich Hill Stud stallion Vadamos will be offered for the first time at Karaka next month.

The stud, with support of a high-profile group of New Zealand breeders, purchased 50 percent of the stallion who has shuttled to New Zealand from 2017.

The French-bred Vadamos is the son of Monsun, who has made a significant impact in Australia by siring Gr.1 Melbourne Cup (3200m) winners – Protectionist, Fiorente and Almandin.

Vadamos was one of Monsun’s very best and he won the Gr.1 Prix du Moulin (1600m) over a mile at Longchamp, the Gr.2 Prix du Muguet (1600m) at Saint Cloud, the Gr.2 Oettingen-Rennen (1600m) at Baden and the Gr.3 Prix Messidor (1600m) at Maisons-Laffitte from the stable of leading international trainer Andre Fabre. He finished fourth in both the Gr.1 Cox Plate (2040m) and the Gr.1 Emirates Stakes (2000m).
