The New Zealand Thoroughbred Racing Handicapping Review Committee has made a number of recommendations following their recent meeting.
The Committee regularly reviews current policies, following consultation and taking into consideration input from participants.
This included those opinions and suggestions offered at Roadshows held with trainers earlier in the year.
The objectives of any changes are to increase horse participation and longevity; to create programming opportunities; to maintain healthy field sizes; and to encourage wagering in a competitive environment.
In addition to these changes, NZTR said they will also investigate programming initiatives and technology to make programming more fluid and adaptable.
