Group Three winning mare House Of Cartier (Alamosa) will head to Saturday week’s Listed Feilding Gold Cup (2100m) at Awapuni after finishing a game fifth in the Gr.1 Livamol Classic (2040m) last weekend.
The Peter Didham-trained daughter of Alamosa and top mare Shez Sinsational had been due to go to stud this season, however connections will mull it over after House Of Cartier closed in the fastest sectionals of the feature.
“If we had drawn barrier six, instead of eight, we might have got Savy Yong Blonk’s run instead of being one space back, but I’ve got no complaints,” Didham said.
“We were only a length and a half away in a Group One and a shower of rain would have helped. We were very proud of the horse.
“We are fifty-fifty as to whether she goes to Savabeel this year. At the moment she is going to run next Saturday in the Feilding Gold Cup, all going well.
“She has pulled up in amazing order and licked the bowl. It was only her second run this preparation and there is still a bit of improvement in her.”
