Leading Australian jockey Hugh Bowman has suffered a broken finger after a trackwork fall at Randwick on Tuesday.

The Sydney hoop, who rode the Murray Baker and Andrew Forsman-trained Quick Thinker to victory in the Gr.3 Ming Dynasty Quality (1400m), was treated immediately at Prince of Wales Hospital for the break to the little finger on his right hand.

Racing NSW’s Dr David Duckworth said the star jockey would undergo surgery on Tuesday afternoon.

There was no indication how long he might be out of the saddle.
