Star New Zealand gallopers Melody Belle (NZ) (Commands) and Catalyst (NZ) (Darci Brahma) have secured a start in the A$5 million All-Star Mile (1600m) after polling was closed for the rich race.

The top 10 vote getters, headed by Alligator Blood, secured spots in the race at Caulfield on March 14, while five wildcards are still to be announced.

The 10 horses to gain places through the public vote in order are: Alligator Blood (All Too Hard), Melody Belle, Kolding (NZ) (Ocean Park), Star Missile (Smart Missile), Dalasan (Dalakhani), Catalyst, Mr Quickie (Shamus Award), Aristia (Lonhro), Heart Of Puissance (Puissance de Lune) and Super Seth (Dundeel).

“I’m particularly excited to see two Kiwi horses in the top 10, and Catalyst’s incredible duel with Alligator Blood last Saturday has laid the foundations for their future battles in both the Australian Guineas (Gr.1, 1600m) and The All-Star Mile,” Racing Victoria’s executive general manager Greg Carpenter said.

A total of 135,097 votes were received with New Zealanders eligible to vote for the first time this year.
