New Zealand galloper Crown prosecutor (Medaglia D’Oro) is in doubt for the Gr.1 Caulfield Cup (2400m) after presenting with lameness when examined on Thursday.
Racing Victoria released the following statement on Thursday afternoon:
Racing Victoria (RV) veterinarians have today completed their inspection of the 18 starters and three of the four emergencies for this Saturday’s Stella Artois Caulfield Cup (2400m).
The Stephen Marsh-trained Crown Prosecutor will be re-examined by RV veterinarians tomorrow morning to determine the gelding’s suitability to accept after he presented with lameness in his right forelimb.
Second emergency Neufbosc (Hayes, Hayes & Dabernig) is currently stabled in Sydney so was unable to be examined today.
The horse will be transported to Melbourne tomorrow and inspected by an RV veterinarian in the afternoon.
All other horses were passed fit to race.
An update on Crown Prosecutor and Neufbosc will be provided tomorrow following their examinations.
