Racing abandoned until Wednesday

Following a Government announcement that New Zealand’s nation-wide COVID-19 Alert Level 4 lockdown would be extended until 11:59pm on Tuesday, all race meetings, trials and jumpouts scheduled up to and including Tuesday have been abandoned.

Race meetings had been scheduled at Cambridge and New Plymouth on Saturday, and Rotorua on Sunday.

From Wednesday, pending a downgrade in alert levels, all scheduled race meetings will proceed as planned and will likely be conducted under Alert Level 3 protocols, with a racemeeting scheduled at Taupo on that day.

New Zealand Thoroughbred Racing is currently working through viable additional racing opportunities over the coming weeks to help compensate for the abandoned race meetings.
